Job Summary

Turner & Townsend is seeking a strong leader to head up our Industrial and Manufacturing (I&M) segment.

This role presents a unique opportunity for the right leader to build from a strong foundation, taking operations to the next level of maturity. For this role, the successful candidate will have leadership responsibilities for the I&M segment, driving growth across the USA. The position also holds a seat on Turner & Townsend’s Americas HT&M Board and over time, will likely carry other Americas responsibilities within the business given the strategic importance of this segment. The I&M lead will work with senior leadership in Houston and the surrounding markets on exciting business opportunities.

Job Objectives

The Role and Reporting

The role of the I&M lead is to grow this business segment and our reputation in the I&M market. This role includes determining and delivering the business generation strategy for I&M and assuming the responsibility for generating new business, while building our proposition and our capability within the market, including playing a key accounts role. This position will report to our Americas head of High Technology and Manufacturing (HT&M).

Other key requirements of the role include, but are not limited to:

  • Provide intelligence for the I&M segment and other markets
  • Develop and implement marketing and business development strategies
  • Play a key role in the I&M business development activities for the cost center
  • Provide solutions to clients and work together with business development team member(s) on sales proposals, qualification packages, and presentation materials
  • Take on key account role(s), project execution assurance and maintain client relationships
  • Coordinate with project team leaders on project negotiations and execution
  • Collaborate with the other business lines and teams

Skills Required

Minimum Requirements

  • Extensive experience in delivering I&M programs, projects and segment knowledge
  • Experience in business development with a proven track record of success
  • Strong connections to existing or past clients in the I&M segment, as well as commercial construction
  • Strong market reputation as a segment lead and expert
  • Degree holder in relevant discipline
  • Minimum 15 years relevant working experience in the I&M segment, as well as commercial construction
  • Proactive, meticulous, self-motivated and hands-on team-player with the ability to multitask
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills essential, ability to communicate well with clients and senior management
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office
